Fabled wooden slippers of Lord Rama were called as Rama Padhuka. When the lord was setting out for 14-year-long exile, his brother Bharat insisted to keep the footwear. It was placed on the throne of Ayodhya by Bharat and throughout Rama’s absence it had a great savoury effect on the kingdom. Ever since the Padhuka has widely been thought to be quite auspicious and the presence of its replicas in one’s abode is most sought after. Given this belief the crystal Padhuka of Rama is taken as a guarantee to safe, healthy and wealthy living by so many staunch followers of Rama to this day.
